Driver named in fatal Mercer accident
Celina, OH – Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey states his Office is
continuing the investigation a fatal traffic crash. On Friday
October 25 at 4:03 PM Mercer County Central Dispatch received multiple
9-1-1 calls in reference to a crash on US Route 33, east of Celina
Mendon Road in Center Township.
Sheriff Grey is now releasing the names of the victims that were
involved. The driver of the 2007 GMC Budget truck would have been
52 year old Terry G. Keck, of 20762 Roycroft Drive, South Bend
Indiana. Mr. Keck was ejected from the truck and became pinned
underneath it. Mr. Keck had a juvenile passenger. The
passenger would have been 11 year old Seth M. Tessman, of 296
Winchester Trail, Goshen Indiana.
For an unknown reason the truck traveled off the north side of US Route
33. The driver overcorrected and brought the truck back onto the
roadway, overcorrected again causing the truck to overturn.
Mr. Keck was pronounced dead at the scene by Mercer County Coroner Dr.
Timothy Heinrichs. Seth Tessman was transported to St. Marys ER
with non-life threatening injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Mendon-Union Fire
Department, and MCERV.
The crash remains under investigation.
