Fund Announces Board Appointments
COLUMBUS,
OHIO – The Ohio
Children’s Trust Fund (OCTF) is pleased to announce new and
reappointed board members.
OCTF is
the state’s sole
public funding source dedicated to preventing abuse and neglect.
Housed within the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, it
works with its 88 county partners to serve all Ohio communities.
Board members represent various regions of the state.
“OCTF
greatly benefits
from the expertise of these individuals and their many years of
experience in promoting child welfare and working to ensure the
safety of all Ohio children,” said OCTF Executive Director Kristen
Rost. “I thank them for their commitment.”
The
following are new and
reappointed board members:
Julie
Barnes, executive
director of the Stark County Department of Job and Family Services in
Canton, represents northeast Ohio. She brings to the board knowledge
of social work and child abuse and neglect services. Barnes is
filling the unexpired balance of a term that began Aug. 29 and
continues through July 2, 2015. This is her first term.
Jon
Fishpaw, vice president
of Advocacy and Government Relations for Catholic Health Partners in
Cincinnati, represents central Ohio. He is treasurer of the OCTF
board and brings to the job knowledge of government relations and
advocacy, the health care industry, and the private sector. His
second term began Aug. 28 and continues through July 2, 2016.
Christina
Klefeker,
coordinator of Service-Learning and Volunteerism for Miami
University’s Hamilton campus, represents southwest Ohio. She brings
to the board expertise in child welfare and higher education. Her
first term began Aug. 29 and continues through July 2, 2016.
Judy Leb,
training
coordinator for Lucas County Court Appointed Special
Advocates/Guardians Ad Litem in Toledo, represents northwest Ohio.
She brings to the board expertise in the legal community and child
welfare, especially issues affecting children with disabilities. Her
first term began Aug. 28 and continues through July 2, 2016.
Dr. Kathi
Makoroff
represents southwest Ohio. She is an associate professor of
pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Medicine
and a full-time child abuse faculty member at the Mayerson Center for
Safe and Healthy Children at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical
Center. She brings to the board expertise in the medical community
and higher education. Her first term began Aug. 28 and continues
through July 2, 2016.
Dr.
Lolita McDavid
represents northeast Ohio. She is medical director of Child Advocacy
and Protection at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital at the
University Hospitals of Case Western Reserve University School of
Medicine in Cleveland. McDavid is vice chair of the OCTF board and
brings expertise in the medical community and higher education. Her
second term began Aug. 28 and continues through July 2, 2016.
