Multi-vehicle
accident injures eight
By Bob Robinson
GREENVILLE – “He had to be doing 50 or 60 miles an hour,” said William
Dich. Mark Dich, his father, agreed. Both witnessed the event. Dich
then added the black car looked like he went up on the curb, trying to
go around. He hit the silver car; the silver one hit the gray one.
Another witness, Patsy Riley, said she was getting ready to pull out of
McDonald’s and saw the car coming at a high rate of speed.
“Uh, uh… I’m not doing that,” she said.
The accident occurred a little before 5 p.m. near the intersection of
Russ Road and Wagner Avenue. The vehicle that allegedly started the
chain reaction was heading west on Russ.
Overall, according to Greenville police, there were seven vehicles
involved with 10 occupants. Eight were transported to Wayne Emergency;
two refused treatment.
Greenville Twp Rescue, Greenville Fire Department and the Darke County
Sheriff were on scene. Mutual aid was provided by Ansonia, Arcanum and
Versailles.
