LeMaster Running for 80th
District House Seat
ARCANUM – Joe LeMaster,
Navy veteran and local pastor, has announced his candidacy for the
80th District House of Representatives seat that is being vacated by
Representative Richard N. Adams. LeMaster believes he offers the best
solutions for the district, which includes Miami County and portions
of Darke County. The Republican victor in this Primary Election will
not face opposition in the November election.
“I am running for this
seat because I am frustrated with state government acting like the
federal government by siphoning resources from the local communities
and then rationing assets back to the communities only if they abide
by the rules,” LeMaster said. “Local governments should have the
revenue returned back to them without the state forcing programs that
need to be established and monitored by the local officials. Darke
County Sheriff Toby Spencer highlighted one aspect of the problem
when he took umbrage with the Governor’s handling of funds to the
State Highway Patrol that should be sent to the local communities for
teaching our youth in drug usage avoidance.”
LeMaster said although we
have made progress in job creation there is still much more that
needs to be done. “We now have a surplus of funds in Ohio. Maybe
it is time to learn from Wisconsin and return additional funds to the
local communities and completely revamp the Ohio Tax structure by
eliminating the personal income tax.
“The ‘Reagan years’
taught us that reducing taxes will stimulate the economy and produce
greater revenue. Thomas Jefferson said that the government that
governs best governs least.”
Why vote for Joe LeMaster
over his fellow Republicans?
LeMaster continued. “I am
the common man, not too classy, and prefer blue jeans over dress
pants. I am a member of the American Legion and a “life member”
of the NRA and love to ride my Harley. I have given my life to
service to my country and to the people because I have a ‘Pastor’s
heart’. I see the problems caused by Obama Care, low paying jobs,
high taxes, and high utilities and I want to make a difference. Real
change needs to be affected for the majority and not the few. I
compete for this seat because I think people deserve a choice in who
represents them. People need someone who wants to protect their
God-given rights against the Federal Government by employing the
Tenth Amendment of the Constitution. I am that person. The State of
Ohio motto, “With God, all things are possible”, gives me hope of
a better tomorrow.”
