GREENVILLE
– Raul D. Dean was arraigned and held on $30,000 bond Jan. 14 on
Trafficking in Marijuana in the Vicinity of a Juvenile, a Felony 4
offense. The arraignment took place by video from the Darke County
Jail.
After
explaining to Dean his rights, Darke County Common Pleas Judge
Jonathan Hein asked if he had an attorney.
“I
was hoping the court would provide one,” Dean answered. He said he
had no job, no savings account, no source of revenue. For rent and
utilities he told the judge his girlfriend worked and their parents
helped out. Hein noted David Rohrer was his attorney before,
appointed him and entered a plea of not guilty on Dean’s behalf.
Darke
County Prosecuting Attorney Kelly Ormsby noted Dean was already on
Community Control. “This is a new felony,” he said. “I think a
$30,000 bond would be appropriate.”
Dean
said he had complied with his probation until this point. “I turned
myself in when I discovered I had a warrant.”
Hein
ordered the requested bond. Dean was previously arrested in November
2012 on F3 Burglary/Habitation. He was arrested again in June 2013 on
a probation violation.
