Accident on
Oswalt-Good claims one life
First fatal crash
on Darke County roads in 2014
On January 22, 2014 at approximately 1:20 PM Darke County Deputies
along with Union City Fire and Rescue and Ft. Recovery Fire Department
responded to the 12,800 block of Oswalt-Good Road on a report of a
serious one-vehicle accident into a guardrail.
Preliminary investigation revealed Rayne B. Honeycutt 27, of Union
City, IN. was driving a black 1995 Suzuki Sidekick along with front
passenger Christin M. Deaton 25, of Union City, IN. The vehicle
was traveling southbound on Oswalt-Good Road and veered off the right
side of the road striking a guardrail end. The guardrail impaled
the passenger side windshield striking Deaton, whom succumbed to her
injuries at the scene.
Accident reconstruction members were called to the scene and this
accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's
Office.
This is Darke County's first fatal crash of the year.
