GREENVILLE
– Patricia A. Neighbors, Greenville, was sentenced on Jan. 13 to
nine months in prison for Forgery, a Felony 5 offense, two years for
Deception to Obtain, a Felony 2 offense, and one year for Illegal
Processing of Drug Documents, Felony 4. All to be served concurrently
for a total of two years.
If
consecutive, she would have been facing over 10 years in prison and
more than $22,000 in fines. Prison time was not mandatory on any of
the three charges, although it was presumed necessary on the F2
Deception to Obtain.
Following
recommendations of Assistant Prosecutor Jesse Green and defense
attorney Jeffrey Slyman, Vandalia, Darke County Common Pleas Judge
Jonathan Hein sentenced her to the MonDay program in lieu of prison.
She was advised if she successfully completes the program, plus two
years probation, she will not serve prison time on the charges. The
sentence also included a six month license suspension and a $7,500
fine.
“If
she doesn’t do this, she goes to prison,” said Green.
This
was Neighbors’ first felony offense. She was indicted in August on
Aggravated Possession of Drugs, Forgery, Deception to Obtain and
Illegal Processing of Drug Documents. She pleaded guilty in return
for dropping the F5 possession and an offer of a MonDay program
recommendation. The recommendation was not binding on Judge Hein.
