alcohol and more keep police busy
On
March 14 police were dispatched to Harrison Avenue regarding a
possible dead body. A male subject was lying on the floor of the
bathroom, purple/blue in color. There was a syringe about half full
of a clear substance suspected to be heroin. There was also a silver
spoon on the floor near the subject. The subject’s sister was
talking on a cell phone and attempting to do chest compressions. The
officer detected a pulse and shallow breathing. When Greenville
Rescue arrived Narcan was used to revive him enough to transport to
Wayne ER. While at Wayne, the subject advised the only time he’d
ever used heroin was in 2012; that he had a drinking problem and
frequently blacks out when drinking. He said he was alone when he was
drinking and the last thing he remembers is going into the bathroom.
On
March 11 police stopped Coyota Rohrer for a stop sign violation.
Reportedly a strong odor of marijuana was detected. She was asked to
perform a field sobriety test and did poorly on it. She was arrested
for OVI. Rolling paper and a marijuana cigarette were found in
Rohrer’s purse and she was under an in-state drug suspension. A
field test on the alleged marijuana tested positive for
THC/marijuana. She was taken to the police station where she
submitted to a urine test. Rohrer was cited and released for OVI,
driving under suspension, possession of drug paraphernalia,
possession of marijuana and for the stop sign violation.
On
March 9 police responded to Taco Bell, 1120 Russ Road, regarding a
vehicle in the drive-thru lane squealing his tires and driving
erratically. The responding officer observed this. Then the defendant
was outside of his vehicle threatening customers in vehicles behind
him. Upon observing the officer the defendant returned to his vehicle
and started to drive toward him but stopped when ordered. When the
officer approached the defendant, identified as Ryan Brooks, he noted
a strong odor of alcoholic beverages, slurred speech and bloodshot
eyes. He also observed Brooks’ face was bloody and shirt ripped.
Brooks didn’t know how that happened. The officer observed an open
container of alcohol in Brooks’ vehicle, along with what appeared
to be a multi colored glass pipe and marijuana residue on the
driver’s side floorboard. Greenville Township Rescue responded and
treated Brooks. The officer reported Brooks had difficulty standing
and asked him to do a field sobriety test. The defendant repeatedly
said he was cold so he voluntarily went to the police station. There
he refused to take the test. Brooks complied to the breath test but
was unable to provide sufficient breath to get a reading. He agreed
to a urine test which will be sent to Miami Valley Regional Crime
Lab. Upon return of the results Brooks will be cited for drug
paraphernalia and OVI. Read the rest of the article - OVI, possible charges, assault and more at Blue Bag Media
