B&E bust leads to pot bust
Celina,
OH – Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey reports his office is
investigating several related incidents. On Thursday 3-13-2014 at
3:39 PM Deputies responded to a reported breaking and entering at
7272 Prairie Brook Drive Celina Ohio. The owner of the residence
reported cash, collector coins, jewelry, and a safe taken in the
break in.
At
7:20 PM Deputies went to 345 South Green Street in Mendon to serve an
unrelated warrant, and attempt to locate the suspect in the breaking
and entering on Prairie Brook Drive. Deputies were initially
permitted to search the residence by the owner. While searching for
the wanted person deputies discovered several items that were
reported stolen in the breaking and entering. The suspect in the
breaking and entering was observed outside of the house and when a
deputy attempted to stop him he took off on foot. Deputy Carla
Baucher pursued the suspect on foot for approximately 10 city blocks.
Deputy Baucher deployed her Taser without success but was still able
to apprehend the suspect in the 200 block of Sunset Drive in Mendon
hiding under a pickup truck. The suspect was also in possession of a
large sum of cash and suspected marijuana. Taken into custody was
33 year old Chad W. Ackley, 345 South Green Street in Mendon. Ackley
is charged with obstructing official business, resisting arrest, and
possession of marijuana. Additional charges are expected to be filed
on Ackley.
A
search warrant was applied and granted for the residence at 345 South
Green Street. Several stolen items from the break in were recovered
along with drug paraphernalia and suspected marijuana.
The
following people were arrested at the residence:

year old Casey Hatcher. Ms. Hatcher was arrested on a probation
violation holder. Hatcher was found hiding in a small closet inside
the residence. Her address is listed at 345 South Green Street in
Mendon. Suspected heroin and cash was in Hatcher’s possession.
The
owner of 345 South Green street 32 year old Megan L. Hatcher was
taken into custody for Obstructing and Child Endangerment.
All
three individuals were taken to the Mercer County Adult Detention
Facility. The case will be reviewed for additional charges.
