Shooting reported at Dayton VA Medical Center (Updated)

At least one person is in custody and one injured after a shooting at the Dayton VA Medical Center.

The DBJ’s news partners at WDTN-TV 2 report the shooting happened shortly after noon. Several buildings were evacuated and others were locked down. Police are securing the VA campus buildings, according to a release from the city.

One victim was shot with what the city calls a minor injury, and they are being treater at the VA’s emergency room.

VA security, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Dayton Police and Fire responded with two medics as well as its bomb squad, SWAT and hostage negotiation teams which are staging nearby, according to police scanners...
