Injury accident
on U.S. 36
On October 8, 2014 at approximately 4:27 PM Darke County Deputies,
along with Gettysburg Fire, Gettysburg Rescue and CareFlight were
dispatched to the 6700 block of US RT 36 East in reference to an injury
accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a silver 2013 Toyota Prius driven by
Heidi J. Aukerman, 60, of Greenville was eastbound on US RT 36.
Mrs. Aukerman was slowing down to make a right turn when she was struck
from behind by a white 1999 Dodge 3500 driven by Christopher P.
Willcox, 37, of Piqua Ohio.
Mrs. Aukerman was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight,
her condition is unknown. Mr. Willcox was treated and released
from the scene by Gettysburg Rescue.
As a result of the investigation Mr. Willcox was issued a citation for
assured clear distance ahead.
