State Senator Bill Beagle Beagle
Recognizes Tri-Village Basketball State Champions
COLUMBUS– Senator Bill Beagle (R-Tipp City) recognized the New Madison
Tri-Village High School Boys Basketball team today for winning the
Division IV state championship in March.
“Coach Josh Sagester and his team have proven their remarkable
abilities and determination both in academics and athletics through
this monumental win for New Madison,” said Beagle. “It is an
honor to congratulate them and share in their success today at the Ohio
Senate.”
This marks the first state title for the New Madison Tri-Village
Patriots. The team's victory was secured when senior guard Colton
Linkous scored the game-winning shot with 1.2 seconds left on the clock.
The 2015 team made school and state history by being the first team to
go undefeated 30-0 since 1961.
Senator Beagle presented the team with a resolution on the floor of the
Ohio Senate during a visit to the Ohio Statehouse today.
