Darke County Sheriff's Office...
One airlifted
following two-vehicle accident at US 127 and Kruckeberg Rd.
Greenville - On April 16, 2015 at approximately 11:03 a.m. Darke County
Deputies, along with Greenville Township Fire and Rescue, and mutual
aid from Gettysburg Rescue were dispatched to US 127 and Kruckeberg in
reference to a two-vehicle injury accident with entrapment.
Preliminary investigation shows that a 2007 GMC Yukon, driven by
Kenneth G. Diedenhofer (68) of Greenville was eastbound on Kruckeberg
Rd and stopped at the intersection of US 127. Diedenhofer then
pulled into the intersection and struck a 2011 Ford Focus, driven by
Julie R. Azbill (42) of Arcanum, who was northbound on US127.
Azbill's vehicle went off the right side of the road and came to final
rest in the side ditch. Azbill was extricated from her vehicle by
Greenville Township Fire and Rescue. Azbill was transported to
Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's
Office and charges are pending at this time.
