Encourage Small Businesses to Take Advantage of Economic Injury
Disaster Loans
COLUMBUS- Senate President Keith Faber (R-Celina) and State Senator
Bill Beagle (R-Tipp City) urged local businesses and agricultural
cooperatives that have recently experienced rain and flooding
damage to take advantage of federal Economic Injury Disaster
Loans.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced today that small
businesses, small agricultural cooperatives and private nonprofit
organizations located in Ohio are eligible for federal loans of up to
$2 million to help soften the financial blow incurred from excessive
rainfall since May 1, 2015.
"The unusually heavy rainfall we've experienced this summer has really
taken its toll on many of our small businesses and agricultural
cooperatives," said Faber. "I applaud the actions the SBA is taking to
lessen the impact on our local economy and encourage businesses that
are hurting to apply for relief."
The disaster declaration includes the following Ohio counties: Butler,
Darke, Defiance, Hamilton, Mercer, Paulding, Preble and Van Wert.
Eligible businesses may submit the SBA's Electronic Loan Application
(ELA) online at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela or mail a completed
application to the following address: U.S. Small Business
Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport
Road, Fort Worth, TX 76155. Completed applications must be returned to
SBA by no later than April 12, 2016.
Disaster loan information and application forms may also be obtained by
calling the SBA's Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 or by sending
an email to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.
