Attorney General Mike DeWine
DeWine Issues
2015 Economic Development Manual
(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced that
the Ohio Attorney General’s Office has issued its 2015 Ohio Economic
Development Manual. The manual is designed to be a one-stop guide for
businesses, elected officials, and economic development professionals
who are interested in promoting business growth and job creation.
“Until now, there was no single publication or source that outlined all
of the various economic development laws and programs in the state,”
said Attorney General DeWine. “This manual provides a general framework
of the laws in Ohio that form the foundation of economic development
policy, and it identifies some of the public and private programs that
someone might want to consider when trying to attract or retain
business in Ohio.”
The manual is designed to provide users overviews on Ohio laws, tax
systems, funding sources, and agencies that play a role in economic
development throughout Ohio.
DeWine was joined in announcing the manual by Andrew Doehrel, President
and CEO of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, and Rick Platt, President and
CEO of the Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority. These two
agencies were part of a group of several partner organizations who
assisted and provided guidance in developing the manual. Other partner
organizations include:
Appalachian Partnership for Economic Growth
Columbus 2020
Dayton Development Coalition
Greene County Development
JobsOhio
Ohio Development Services Agency
Ohio Economic Development Association
REDI Cincinnati
Regional Growth Partnership
Team NEO
A copy of the manual is available on the Ohio Attorney General’s
