Celina officer
saves elderly woman’s life
On February 3rd shortly before 11:00 PM Sgt. Kent Taylor of the Celina
Police Dept. was on foot patrolling the neighborhood in the 1100 block
of Princeton and performing house checks. It was below freezing
when he noticed something in a backyard moving. Upon a closer
check he found an 82 year old woman, injured and lying face down in the
snow on a patch of ice.
This elderly woman was able to speak. She had fallen when she
went outside to get her dog. No one could hear her cries for
help. She had a minor head injury and what turned out to be a
broken arm. She was unable to get herself to her feet.
Sgt. Taylor helped the injured woman to her feet and got her inside her
home and waiting with her until members of the Celina F.D. arrived with
an ambulance to take her to the hospital.
We believe she would not likely have been found before day. As
Chief I commend Sgt. Taylor for a job well done and saving the life of
one our citizens.
