Injury accident
on Mills Road
On Sunday January 4, 2015 at approximately 11:40 AM, Darke County
Deputies along with New Madison Fire and Tri-Village Rescue responded
to an injury crash in the 1600 block of Mills Road.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 1998 Black Cadillac driven by
Teresa A. Burkett-Moorman 54 of Hollansburg, was traveling Eastbound in
the 1600 block of Mills Road when she lost control of her vehicle in a
curve, traveling off the left side of the roadway then traveling off
the right side of the roadway colliding and knocking down a utility
pole causing a live power line to remain on the roadway. Mills
Road was shut down for approximately one hour until utility crews from
Darke Rural Electric could remove the power line.
The driver was transported to Reed Hospital in Richmond, IN. for her
injuries.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's
Office.
