Accident
involving school bus on SR 121
On Wednesday January 7, 2015 at approximately 9:37 AM, Darke County
Deputies along with Hollansburg Fire, Tri-Village Rescue, and Northwest
EMS responded to 10 State Route 121 on a report of an injury crash
involving a Tri-Village School Bus and motor vehicle.
Preliminary investigation revealed a Tri-Village School Bus driven by
Mary Boone, 58, New Madison, was traveling Southbound on State Route
121 and had stopped to pick up a student, then backed the school bus
partially into a private lane and while pulling out of the lane to
travel North on State Route 121, a Gray 2013 Ford Fiesta driven by
Laura Hall, 38, New Madison, was traveling North on State Route 121 and
collided with the rear passenger side of the school bus. The
school bus was occupied with 45 students, and one 15 year old female
student was transported to Reid Hospital for possible injuries and all
other students were uninjured. The driver of the Ford Fiesta was
transported to Wayne HealthCare for her injuries. The bus driver
was uninjured.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's
Office.
