Beagle to Lead
Workforce Development Efforts for Senate
COLUMBUS– Ohio Senate President Keith Faber (R–Celina) today appointed
State Senator Bill Beagle (R–Tipp City) to serve as the Chairman of the
newly-formed Senate Finance Subcommittee on Workforce. Beagle
previously served as Chairman of the Senate Workforce and Economic
Development Committee. The panel’s reassignment as a Finance
Subcommittee further states the Senate’s commitment to maintaining
workforce readiness as a top priority.
The Finance Subcommittee on Workforce will be tasked with finding new
and creative workforce development strategies to help Ohioans prepare
for the jobs of today and tomorrow. The panel will also specifically
look for ways to advance workforce initiatives in the state’s biennial
budget proposal.
“It’s an honor to have the opportunity to again lead the Senate’s
workforce development efforts,” said Beagle. “Along with my position on
the Finance Committee, I will be able to directly impact a wide range
of important issues to the people of the Miami Valley.”
In addition to his chairmanship, Beagle will also serve on the Senate
standing committees on Agriculture, Finance, Insurance, Ways and Means,
Financial Institutions, and Health and Human Services.
Prior to his service in the Ohio Senate, Beagle served as a member of
the Tipp City Council where he served as Council President. He is also
a former member of the Tipp-Monroe Community Services Board, the Tipp
City Power Plant Reuse Committee, the Tipp City Planning Board, and the
Tipp City Public Library Board of Trustees. He also worked for several
years in the banking and finance industry.
Senator Beagle received his bachelor's degree in finance from Miami
University and earned an MBA from Cleveland State University. He and
his wife Karen live in Tipp City with their three children.
Chairman Beagle will convene the committee once its assignments have
been made by the Finance Committee Chairman.
