Two HIT drug
team arrests
The Celina Police Department and The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office
reports drug arrests made as a result of their joint HIT
detail. The HIT (Heroin Interdiction Team) is a combination
of Celina Patrolmen and Sheriff’s Deputies. A vehicle was stopped at
1:51 PM for a traffic violation at US Rte 127 near Siegrist Jutte
Road. With assistance from the Celina Police K-9 Unit, the
K-9 alerted on the vehicle and a search was conducted. HIT
located nine (9) capsules of suspected heroin as well as four (4) empty
capsules and a one hundred dollar bill, along with two (2) prescription
pill bottles containing Gabapentin and Mirtazapine (commonly used
for Depression and Seizures). The prescriptions were not issued
to anyone inside the vehicle. Additionally $100.00 was seized
from Ganger. . Also located was a loaded BB gun pistol,
that very closely resembled a real gun, in the glove box.
Arrested was 21 year old Tyla M. Ganger of Beaver Street in Celina
Ohio. Ganger was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant for
failure to comply on the original charge domestic violence, and was
also charged with Possession of Heroin, driving under suspension, and
operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and or
drugs. Ganger is being held in the Mercer County Detention
Facility on a $50,000.00 bond ordered by Celina Municipal Court Judge
Jim Scheer. There were two additional passengers in the vehicle
that were not charged.
At 6:40 PM a vehicle was topped for a traffic violation on State Route
219 east of Coldwater. HIT located a large bag of suspected
marijuana, a bottle filled with capsules with residue of an unknown
substance inside of them. The vehicle was seized and secured and
HIT will be applying for a search warrant this morning for the vehicle.
Arrested was 22 year old Alan J. Bricher of Menchhofer Road, Coldwater
Ohio. Bricher was arrested on a probation violation. Additionally
$368.00 in cash was also seized from Bricher. HIT was assisted by
Coldwater PD on this stop. A male juvenile passenger was released to
his parents.
The HIT will be forwarding these cases to the Mercer County Prosecutor
for consideration of additional charges.
Sheriff Grey and Chief Wale continue to remind their citizens that
their agencies will continue to pursue drug dealers and users in Mercer
County and within the City of Celina. They also ask that
citizens continue to call the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and the
Celina Police Department with any drug information or tips that they
may have. One of these arrests were made possible due to tips received
by the Sheriff’s Office web site. Citizens may leave
