Faber Honors
2015 Sheriff of the Year John Lenhart
COLUMBUS—Senate President Keith Faber (R-Celina) today honored Shelby
County Sheriff John Lenhart for being the first Ohioan to receive the
prestigious Sheriff of the Year designation from the National Sheriffs'
Association.
The National Sheriffs' Association selected Lenhart to receive the 2015
Ferris E. Lucas Sheriff of the Year award over 99 other sheriffs around
the country. Lenhart's staff recommended him for the honor in
recognition of his selfless service and record of implementing
financially successful programs in Shelby County.
"Sheriff Lenhart has had tremendous success in boosting public
confidence in the office over the span of his career in Shelby County,"
said Faber. "I can think of no one more deserving of this recognition."
Lehnart will receive his award, a statue of a sheriff, on June 28 at
the National Sheriffs' Association conference in Baltimore.
