Two-vehicle
injury accident
On March 12, 2015 at approximately 12:30 PM Darke County deputies along
with Tri-Village Rescue, New Madison Fire, Arcanum Rescue, CareFlight
and LifeLine were dispatched to the intersection of New
Madison-Coletown Road and Hollansburg-Arcanum Road in reference to a
two vehicle injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a blue 1983 Chevy Suburban driven by
George M. Fudge, 39 of New Paris, Ohio stopped at the posted stop sign
southbound on New Madison-Coletown Road and Hollansburg-Arcanum
Road. Fudge failed to yield after the stop sign traveling into
the path of the red 2014 Ford F-350 utility truck driven by Bruce A.
Mikesell, 57 of New Madison, Ohio. Fudge's vehicle traveled off
the roadway coming to rest in a yard. Mikesell's vehicle traveled
off the left side of the roadway striking a ditch causing the vehicle
to roll onto it's side.
George M. Fudge and his 4 year old male passenger were transported to
Wayne HealthCare by Arcanum Rescue where they were treated and
released. Fudge's front seat passenger, Chasity M. C. Schroy, 33
of Richmond, Indiana was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by
CareFlight where she is listed in Good condition. Bruce A.
Mikesell was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by LifeLine where he
was treated and released.
Darke County Sheriff's Office reconstruction team also responded to the
accident scene for further investigation.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's
Office.
