Two injury accidents over the weekend
Teen in critical condition following 571 accident
Greenville- On November 14, 2015 at approximately 10:48 P.M. Darke
County Deputies along with Greenville Township Rescue, Greenville
Township Fire, and CareFlight were dispatched to the 2700 Block of
State Route 571 reference to an accident with injuries.
Preliminary investigation shows that a silver Honda Civic, driven by a
17 year old male, was traveling east on State Route 571. The vehicle
went off the right side of the road struck a telephone pole and a
parked car before coming to rest on it’s driver’s side. The driver was
taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital where he is listed in
critical condition.
This incident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
Three injured at SR 47 and US 127 intersection
On November 14, 2015 at approximately 11:54 P.M. Darke County Deputies
along with Ansonia Rescue, Ansonia Fire, Versailles Rescue, and
CareFlight were dispatched to the intersection of SR 47 and US RT 127
in reference to an accident with injuries.
Preliminary investigation shows that a 2009 Nissan, driven by Rodney
Abney (24) of Bradford, was traveling east on State Route 47. Abney’s
vehicle failed to stop for the stop sign at US RT 127 hitting a south
bound 2008 Suzuki driven by Cierra Wolfe (24) of Greenville. The driver
of the Nissan and his passenger, Cody Shafer (24) of Bradford, were
taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital from the scene and the
driver of the Suzuki was transported to Wayne Health Care in
Greenville. Abney is currently listed in stable condition, Shafer is
critical, and Wolfe was treated at Wayne Health Care and later
transferred to Miami Valley Hospital.
This incident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
