Buchy calls on
Congress to lift ban on crude exports
135 state legislative leaders issue letter in support for free trade in
energy
[Greenville, Ohio], ─ State Representative Jim Buchy (R-Greenville)
joined 134 other senior legislative leaders from 40 states and Puerto
Rico calling on Congress to lift the 1970s-era ban on U.S. crude oil
exports. Allowing U.S. energy producers to access global markets is
expected to save consumers money, promote America’s geopolitical
strength, and create nearly one million jobs, including many in Ohio.
“Lifting these outdated trade barriers will save consumers money at the
pump and create good-paying jobs right here in Ohio,” said Buchy.
“We’re calling on Congress to support this important legislation and
protect America’s continued growth as an energy superpower.”
The full text of the letter and a list of signatories are available on
the U.S. House Speaker’s website.
