Suspect
arrested for Criminal Trespass
Sheriff Jeff Grey announces the arrest of individual suspected of
attempted breaking and entering. Arrested was James Baker,
age 34, from 208 Reynolds Ave, Spencerville Ohio. Baker is currently
being held on a charge of criminal trespass.
On Sunday 4-17-2016 at 3:51 AM Central Dispatch received a call from
the home owner at 4960 Kittle Road. The home owner reported he
caught two subjects on his property and he was holding them at gunpoint
until Deputies could arrive. Prior to law enforcement arrival,
one of the male subjects took off on foot.
Deputies recovered items that were left by the suspects near their
vehicle that was parked in the victim’s driveway. Deputies
recovered a black box containing several baggies of suspected
methamphetamine, pills that are suspected of being morphine, a bag of
suspected marijuana, and a pocket scale commonly used for measuring
drugs. The substance in the baggies was field tested, and tested
positive for methamphetamine. Seized was a 2005 Hyundai belonging
to Baker. Baker was transported to the Adult Detention
Facility and held on $125,000.00 bond subject to 10%.
Deputies were assisted by the Coldwater Police Department.
Deputies are expected to apply for a search warrant for the vehicle,
and the case will be forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutor for
consideration of additional charges.
Deputies are currently seeking the second male who took off on
foot. He is described as being 5 foot 6 inches tall, weighing
approximately 150 pounds, last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue
jeans. Please contact the Sheriff’s office for any
information on the identity of this male.
