Five
transported to Wayne following rollover accident
On August 19, 2016 at approximately 1:59 PM Darke County Deputies along
with New Madison Fire, Arcanum Rescue, Tri-Village Rescue, Greenville
Township Rescue and Union City Rescue were dispatched to the
intersection of State Route 503 and Hollansburg-Arcanum Road in
reference to a two-vehicle rollover accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a silver 2002 Dodge Durango driven
by Daniel A. Mowbray, 37 of Hollansburg was stopped eastbound on
Hollansburg-Arcanum Road at State Route 503 at a posted stop sign.
Mowbray failed to yield the right of way striking a blue 2008 Chrysler
Town and Country Van driven by Megan E. Locke, 30 of Arcanum. Locke and
her four passengers traveled off the right side of the roadway striking
the ditch and rolling over. Locke’s van came to rest in a field.
Mowbray and his daughter were treated and released from the scene.
Locke and her four children were transported to Wayne Healthcare for
further evaluation, where they were treated and released.
Mowbray was issued a citation for failure to yield after a clearly
marked stop sign.
