NFRW Leaders
Roll through Ohio on U.S. Bus Tour
‘Destination: White House’ Tour Will Register and Rally Voters in 11
Swing States
COLUMBUS, OHIO – National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) leaders
made stops in Ohio the week of July 26-30, in their red, white and blue
bus nicknamed “Rosie” to rally communities and register local residents
to vote. NFRW President Carrie Almond was joined by Ohio Federation of
Republican Women (OFRW) board members, club officers, area legislators
and Republican candidates in the following counties: Darke, Delaware,
Franklin, Greene, Licking, Miami, Montgomery, Ottawa and
Pickaway. There were 16 Federated Clubs participating in planning
and hosting the rallies.
“Our mission with the ‘NFRW Destination: White House’ bus tour is to
register Republican-leaning women to vote, rally our clubs and
communities across the country, and put a Republican back in the White
House,” says Almond, of Chillicothe, Mo. “Women’s voices and votes will
make the difference.”
The bus started its tour on Mothers’ Day and has traveled through 23
states and over 12,000 miles. “Rosie” was named to honor Almond’s
Grandmother who served as Ambassador to Luxembourg. Traveling on the
bus along with Almond during the Ohio tour were OFRW President Lyn
Bliss and OFRW Public Relations Chair Linda Casey.
“We are so excited to have shared our Republican message with voters
during the NFRW bus tour through Ohio,” said Bliss. “It was an honor
and a pleasure to welcome our national president, and of course
“Rosie”, to Ohio for five days of rallies. Our members are fired up to
elect Republicans ─ from the White House to the courthouse this year,
and this tour engaged men and women of all ages with our organization.”
The Greenville Rally was hosted by the Darke County Republican Women’s
Club and included “Rosie’s” participation in the Annie Oakley Parade.
After the parade, “Rosie” parked at Hamilton Motors and welcomed Darke
County Republicans – many of whom signed their names on “Rosie”.
Among those visiting “Rosie” while she visited Greenville were
Congressman Warren Davidson and his wife Lisa, Ohio Senate President
Keith Faber and his family, State Representative and Candidate for Ohio
Senate Matt Huffman and wife Sheryl, Darke County Clerk of Courts Cindy
Pike, Darke County Commissioner Mike Stegall, Retired Greenville City
Treasurer Barbara Fee, and Darke County Republican Chairman Keith
Threewits.

Founded in 1938, the NFRW is the largest and most influential
Republican women’s group in the nation. The NFRW (www.nfrw.org) proudly
represents the party that first made it possible for women to vote in
the U.S. Today, the NFRW works to increase the effectiveness and
relevance of women in the cause of good government. Our mission
remains to recruit and elect Republican candidates and promote the
principles of the Republican Party while educating the public and
informing the media.
The OFRW, founded in 1929, is federated under the NFRW. It is a
statewide organization of hundreds of members in constituent clubs.
OFRW is the largest, most powerful women’s political organization in
Ohio and provides the avenue for women to influence policy, develop
candidates, and elect the leaders of Ohio. The OFRW is a
multi-generational, multicultural organization that provides the
structure and support for political activists to learn, engage, and
flourish.
