Kasich &
Taylor issue resolution honoring Martin Luther King Day
COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich and Lt. Governor Mary Taylor
issued a resolution in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday,
January 18, 2016. The resolution recognizes “his legacy of honor,
integrity and commitment to community” that has endured for nearly 50
years.
“Dr. King’s leadership and courage were instrumental to the success of
the civil rights movement and his fight for equality inspired a
generation of change; and despite acts of violence against himself, his
family and his property, Dr. King continued to speak out against racism
and hatred wherever it existed and encouraged others to create a world
where individuals ‘will not be judged by the color of their skin, but
by the content of their character,’” said Kasich and Taylor in the
resolution.
