Larson named Influential Executive for Second Consecutive Year

The Dayton Business Journal (DBJ) has named Edison State Community College President, Dr. Doreen Larson as one of the most influential female executives in the region for the second consecutive year.

Dr. Larson made the prestigious list for her outstanding leadership in the region's higher education sector.

"I am honored to be included among such powerful and successful women in the Dayton region," said Dr. Doreen Larson. "Congratulations to all of the recognized women and a sincere thank you to the Dayton Business Journal."

Beginning her tenure in 2015 as the college's first female President, Dr. Larson has been committed to developing community relations and positioning the college for growth since her start.

"My Edison State colleagues have welcomed and supported me throughout my first year and together we are making a difference in the lives of our students and the regional economy," added Larson.

Previously, she led Pierpont Community and Technical College in Fairmont, West Virginia, where she served as President since 2010.

According to their website, the DBJ Editorial Board selected women for inclusion in the list, and did so based on their position within their organization, as well as their community impact.
