Best selling author
talks about Where (he is) Wearing
New York Times best selling author Kelsey Timmerman, a Darke County
native, was at Memorial Hall recently for a humorous and educational
presentation about his new book, “Where Am I Wearing?”
He talked to Edison State and high school students about the people who
make our clothes… their goals, their working conditions, their lives.
“Check the labels on your shirts,” he said. “Where are you wearing?”
The Mississinawa High School graduate made presentations both in
Greenville and at Edison State Community College in Piqua. The
Greenville presentation was a required assignment for many students at
the Edison State Darke County Campus.
Timmerman told the audience the first time he was published was in The
Daily Advocate under Managing Editor Bob Robinson. Now he is the author
of two books, “Where Am I Wearing?” and “Where Am I Eating?” For both
books, he travels the world to meet the people who make our clothes and
grow our food. He puts readers face-to-face with globalization and how
our lives are interconnected.
