Jessica Johnson of Columbus was chosen to receive the prestigious
National Pathfinder Scholarship from the National Federation of
Republican Women.
Ohio candidate chosen
for National Pathfinder Scholarship
Columbus, Ohio – Ohio Federation of Republican Women (OFRW) received
notification from the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW)
that its candidate, Jessica Johnson, was named as recipient of the
NFRW's National Pathfinder Scholarship.
The National Pathfinder Scholarship Fund was established in 1985 in
honor of First Lady Nancy Reagan.
"Jessica has an outstanding educational and extra-curricular background
with many achievements," said OFRW President Lyn Bliss. "Her goals in
Public Administration, through the John Glenn College of Public
Affairs, is to be admired. I'm confident Nancy Reagan would be pleased
with the selection of Jessica Johnson as this year's recipient."
Each state Federation is allowed to submit one applicant to the
NFRW. From numerous applications, Johnson's was picked by the
OFRW as the one to be submitted to the NFRW.
The three annual scholarships of $2,500 provide financial assistance
and support to women seeking undergraduate or graduate degrees.
Undergraduate sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as students
enrolled in a master's degree program, are eligible to apply for the
scholarship.
Founded in 1938, the NFRW proudly represents the party that first made
it possible for women to vote in the U.S. Today, the NFRW works to
increase the effectiveness and relevance of women in the cause of good
government. Its mission remains to recruit and elect Republican
candidates, promote the principles of the Republican Party, educate the
