Calling on our Darke
County communities
Entering its second year of service, Empowering Darke County Youth
programs are growing. The ability to serve the increasing demand for
help, however, is severely limited by available resources.
Last summer Empowering tutors successfully helped 43 students get a
jump on their school year. This summer, parents and grandparents have
requested help for 63 students, a jump of nearly 50 percent. We have
had to establish a waiting list.
Please consider a donation. It will immediately make weekly tutoring
sessions available to another child.
There are many adults in Darke County who can help a child learn his or
her letters or numbers… or improve reading skills. Make a commitment to
set aside one or two hours a week to help us help them. Help us give
another child the help he or she deserves.
