Midmark Begins Plans to Build Technology Center in Versailles

DAYTON, Ohio, May 24, 2017 — Midmark Corp. today announced its decision to construct a technology center on its Versailles, Ohio, campus to facilitate the company’s recent and future growth and strengthen its new product development process and technological capabilities. The company is currently in the initial phases of the project with the goal of breaking ground late in the year or beginning of 2018.

Midmark’s strategy is to enrich the point of care experience by bringing clinical spaces, technology and workflows into harmony. With the healthcare market rapidly evolving, the company is making strategic moves to accelerate its product development cycle and strengthen its agility to stay ahead of customer needs. The decision to expand in Versailles supports this strategy by locating its engineering, marketing, product management, communications, among other functions connected to new product development, into close proximity of each other in a new, state-of-the-art facility that is conducive to innovation.

The history of Midmark in Versailles began in 1969 when the company constructed the first manufacturing plant for its medical division. Since then, the company’s presence has grown to occupy approximately 615,000 square feet across its facilities in Versailles, including Riverwatch, its conference center that hosts continuing education opportunities and accommodations for its visiting customers.

John Baumann, president and CEO of Midmark, stated, “We are pleased to be growing the organization and enthusiastic for the future of Midmark. We are grateful for the far-reaching relationship we have established with the Versailles community and are excited to expand our presence here. Our decision to invest in this technology center will accelerate innovation at Midmark, support our culture, and help us deliver our strategic promise to enrich the point of care experience.”

Rodd Hale, Village of Versailles Administrator, commented, “We are extremely excited Midmark has chosen to locate a new technology center within the Village of Versailles. We view our relationship with Midmark as a partnership and this growth will only enhance that relationship. This is a huge win for the Village of Versailles.”

Midmark has been working closely with JobsOhio, Dayton Development Coalition, Darke County Economic Development and the Village of Versailles on this project. More detailed information about this cooperative effort will be released at a later date.
