Succeed at State FCCLA Competition
Clayton, Ohio – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Culinary
Arts, Early Childhood Education, and Hospitality Services students
competed in the Ohio Family, Career and Community Leaders of America
(FCCLA) Competition on April 27-28, in Columbus. Many
students qualified to represent Ohio at the FCCLA National Leadership
Conference July 2-6, in Nashville, TN.
MVCTC students winning their state competition and qualifying for the
National FCCLA Competition include:
Early Childhood Education seniors Alexis Adkins (Miami East), Ally
Ratzel (Northmont), and Lydia Russell (Valley View) placed second at
State FCCLA and received a gold rating in Chapter Service Display.
Early Childhood Education juniors Olivia Mett (Valley View), Tanner
Marburger (Brookville), and Ryleigh Abney (Miamisburg) placed first at
State FCCLA and received a gold rating in Chapter Service Portfolio
Early Childhood Education senior, Abigail Adkins (Eaton) placed first
at State FCCLA and received a gold rating in Illustrated Talk.

Culinary Arts junior Destiny Getchell (Twin Valley South) placed third
and received a silver rating in Hospitality, Tourism & Recreation.
Culinary Arts junior Deja Mangos (West Carrollton) and Gerardo Zamora
(Wayne) placed third and received a Gold rating in Event Planning.
Culinary Arts junior Katlyn Grisso (Milton-Union) placed second and
received a gold rating in Pastry Tray.
The following MVCTC students placed at the State FCCLA Contest:
Early Childhood senior, Shayla Stephan (Arcanum) placed third in Career
Investigation and received a gold rating in Specific Task Assessment.
Senior Culinary Arts Team of Jacob Jenkins (Eaton), Jennifer Fisher
(Bethel), Zyonda Gibson (Northmont), and Madison Whitney-Schaale
(Miamisburg) received a gold rating.
Culinary Arts senior, Cheyenne Meyers (Tri-Village) received a Gold
rating in Pastry Tray
Culinary Arts junior, Natalie Perry (Eaton) received a gold rating in
Creative Cakes
Culinary Arts senior, Holly Green (Tippecanoe) received a gold rating
in Creative Cakes
Culinary Arts junior, Deja Mangos (West Carrollton) received a gold
rating in Entrepreneurship
Culinary Arts juniors, William King (Trotwood) and Caleb Carson (Twin
Valley South) received a gold rating in Life Event Plan
