Bruce D. Swank
Bruce D. Swank, 64, of Greenville, passed away Monday afternoon,
January 24, 2011 at the Veterans Administration Hospice in Dayton.
He was born August 20, 1946 in Greenville, son of the late Ralph E. and
Helen M. (Poling) Swank. In addtion to his parents he was preceded in
death by a grandson, Derek Brandt.
Bruce was a veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam. He was
retired from Judo Steel where he had worked as an Estimator. He was a
member of the American Legion Post 140 in Greenville.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Christine (Connelley) Swank,
whom he married November 23, 1968; a daughter, Anita M. (Michael)
Brandt of Slidell, LA; son, Bradley (Jennifer) Swank of Tipp City;
grandsons, Michael Brandt, Jr., Justin Brandt, and Braden Swank;
a brother, Robert Swank of Franklin, IN.; a sister, Joyce Pierron of
MN.; sister-in-law Linda (John) Mentefering of MI; and special friends
Linda and Larry Snider, and Mike and Lynn Howard.
Services with full military honor by the Greenville Veterans Honor
Guard will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 12 p.m. at the
Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Doug Baker
officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5-8
p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions
be given to the Dayton Veterans Administration Hospice.
