Dorothy Helen Lehman
Dorothy Helen Lehman, 94, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July
20, 2011. She was the devoted and loving wife of Robert Dale
Lehman. They had been married 74 years and were blessed with four
daughters: Jane Huner, Janet Hicks, Jean Jones (Earnest) and Mary
Bard (Dr. Robert).
Dorothy was a Past Worthy Matron of The Order of Eastern Star and an
avid church worker. She was a lover of life, an artist, and a
writer. She loved sewing, gardening, children, and most of all
her family. She will be remembered by her family for singing
hymns as she worked and her devotion to her family.
Dorothy was born May 6, 1917 in Snow Hill, Indiana to George M. and
Merle (Arnold) Harris. She was predeceased by her parents, two
brothers, Jack and Charles; sisters Ruth (Ross) and Jane (Sharp);
sons-in-law Duane Detrick, Robert Hicks, Dr. Ziver Huner, and Grandsons
Douglas and Gregory Huner.
In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her sister
Anne Vivian, 10 Grandchildren, 18 Great-grandchildren, and 5
Great-great grandchildren.
There will be a service held on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 10:30 AM at
Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville, Ohio, with Rev. John
McRoberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Palestine
Cemetery, Palestine, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Tuesday
July 26, 2011 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
