Sarah A. (Paulus) Magoto, age 88, of Russia, Ohio, passed away on
Sunday, July 3, 2011 at 7:00 PM at the Versailles Health Care Center,
Versailles, Ohio. She was born on March 20, 1923 in Shelby
County, Ohio, to the late Peter & Elizabeth (Francis) Paulus.
Sarah was a homemaker and a member of the St. Remy
Catholic Church. She loved cooking, playing cards and bingo.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death
by her husband, Carl Edward Magoto whom she married on June 22, 1946;
brothers, Tom, Adrian, Stephen, and Lawrence Paulus; sisters, Catherine
Magoto, Christina Carity, Martha Paulus, Laura Paulus, and Helen
DeMange; 2 infant brothers; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Cochran.
She is survived by her son, James Magoto of Sidney,
Ohio; daughters and sons in law, Kathleen (Steve Monnin) Magoto of
Versailles and Judy (Jeffrey) Cochran of Versailles; grandchildren,
Michelle (B.J.) Baker, Amanda Cochran, Danielle Cochran, and Ashley
Cochran; great grandchildren, Stewart and Rosalie Baker; step
grandchildren, Chad (Traci) Monnin and Jennifer (Steve) Shields; step
great grandchildren, Chase Monnin, Blake Monnin, Hayden Shields, and
Ethan Shields; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on
Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 10:30 AM at St. Remy Catholic Church in
Russia, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. Frank Amberger celebrant. Burial will
follow in the St. Remy Church Cemetery, Russia, Ohio. Family will
receive friends on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 4-8 PM and on Thursday
from 9-10 AM on at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio.
