Ray N. Gibson
Ray N. Gibson, 86, of Greenville, passed away early Thursday morning,
June 2, 2011 at Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.
He was born June 21, 1924 in Brown Township, Darke County, Ohio, son of
the late Alpha A. and Susie F. (Shiverdecker) Gibson. In addition to
his parents he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Helen E.
(Bankson) Gibson; brothers, Doyle Gibson, Dean Gibson; and
sisters, Dorothy Dill Crawford, Bernice Crawford.
Ray had retired from Hobart Corporation after 37 1/2 years. He was a
member of Coletown Congregational Christian Church and Hobart Quarter
Century Club and had served in the US Army in World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Evelyn L. (Oliver) Gibson whom
he married June 11, 1966; a son, Dennis L. Gibson of Cincinnati, OH; a
daughter, Cinda F. Pearson of Union City, IN; 10 grandchildren;
25 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services with full Military Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday,
June 4 at Oliver- Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Eric
Knight officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Teegarden
Cemetery near Ansonia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, from 5 p.m.
to 7 p.m.. The family request that memorial contributions be
given to Coletown Congregational Christian Church, State of the Heart
Hospice, or Donors Choice.
