Lowell R. McClurg
Lowell R. McClurg, 71, of Greenville, Ohio passed away early Thursday
afternoon , June 23, 2011 at his residence.
He was born on February 12, 1940, in Greenville, Ohio to the late Ralph
and Jean (Hipshire) McClurg. In addition to his parents he is preceded
in death by a stepson John Louk.
Lowell was retired from restaurant service having worked an numerous
restaurant including the former Wills Restaurant in Greenville. An avid
and loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds, he was a member of the Jehovah's
Witness. He was a 1959 graduate of Greenville High School.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta (Murphy) McClurg, whom he married
April 7, 1991; step children, Harley Louk of New Carlisle, Cecil Louk,
Christopher Louk, Robert Gray, Sandra Gray, Kathy Gray, and Rhonda
Weese all of Greenville; 15 step grandchildren; 6 step great
grandchildren; an aunt, Nancy Rush; an uncle, Bud Hipshire; and
numerous cousins.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 28 at the Oliver-Floyd
Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Greenville
Township Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 5-8
p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to either
the Cancer Association of Darke County or State of the Heart Hospice.
