Eugene R. “Gene” Brown
Eugene R. “Gene” Brown, age 75, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on
Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 10:05 AM at Heartland of Greenville.
Gene spent 1 month at Good Samaritan Heart Hospital in Dayton, Ohio
before returning to Greenville on March 15, 2011 where he was admitted
to Heartland. He was born on February 16, 1936 in Cincinnati,
Ohio, to the late Raymond E. & Martha C. (Baker) Brown.
Gene worked as a manager for a Poultry and Egg Farm in Greenville for
many years and then worked as a Life and Health Insurance Agent before
working as a Special Advertising Sales Rep for Leckey Sales of Sidney,
Ohio.
Gene was a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War
and a member American Legion. Gene had a liver transplant in 2003
where it allowed his family 8 more years to enjoy with him. The
family would like to express there appreciation to all who are organ
donors.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his step son,
Rick Hill.
He is survived by his wife, Bette (Daubenmire) Brown of Greenville,
Ohio, whom he married on April 26, 1976; sons and daughters in law,
Robert (Kim) Brown of Arkansas, Chuck (Sara) Brown of Arkansas, and
David & Regena Brown of Ansonia; daughter, Virginia Frye of
Arkansas; step son, Jeff & Diane Hill of Bradford; step daughter,
Brenda (Phil) Sullenberger of Piqua, Ohio; step daughter in law, Patti
Hill of Greenville, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren;
sisters and brothers in law, Frances (Andrew) Holzinger of Dayton, Ohio
and Carol (Jim) Ducker of Florida; as well as several nieces and
nephews.
There will be a graveside memorial service on Friday, March 25, 2011 at
11:00 AM at Abbottsville Cemetery, St. Rt. 49 South, Greenville, Ohio,
with Pastor Samuel Hoeflich officiating. A graveside military
service will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.
Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home,
Greenville, Ohio.
