Naomi Vere Hemmerich

Naomi Vere Hemmerich, age 91, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 12:35 PM at her residence.  She was born on February 18, 1920 in Versailles, Ohio, to the late John & Lula (Gunn) Kimmel.

Naomi worked at the Veterans Service Office before becoming a housewife.  She was a member of the WAVES in the United States Navy serving in WWII.  She was a former member of the American Legion in Versailles and loved Gardening and music during her generation.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Wallace Kimmel; sisters, Ruth Preston, Claribel Laub, Velma Wolfe, Betty June Kimmel, and Martha Jane Kimmel.

She is survived by her husband, Doyle Hemmerich of Greenville, Ohio, whom she married on June 16, 1951; sons and daughters in law, Michael Alan & Julie Hemmerich of Dublin, Ohio, and Theodore Dean “Ted” & Debbie Hemmerich of Bradford, Ohio; daughter and son in law, Judith “Jane” & Bruce Kaiser of Greenville; grandchildren, Megan (Chris) Smith, Jennifer Hemmerich, Cara (Mike) Bourassa, Matthew Hemmerich, Nicholas Hemmerich, Jacob Hemmerich, and Natalie Hemmerich; great grandchildren, Sebastian Hemmerich and Addison Bourassa; brother, Gary Kimmel of Versailles, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a service held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Samuel Hoeflich officiating.  Burial will follow in the Abbottsville Cemetery, Darke County, Ohio.  Family will receive friends on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.  There will be a graveside military service conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. 

It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to the Darke County Cancer Association, State of the Heart Hospice, or Comprehensive Health Network.  Condolences for the family may be sent to www.zecharbailey.com
