Mary F. Sanders
Mary F. Sanders, age 92, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday,
March 15, 2011 at 11:45 PM at the Brethren Retirement Community,
Greenville, Ohio. She was born on September 12, 1918 in
Greenville, Ohio, to the late Alceid & Otha (Sharp) McGreevey.
Mary was a Homemaker and was also a Dietary Aid for the Brethren
Retirement Community. She was a 50 year member of the former
Grace Lutheran Church, Washington Township Home Economics Extension
Club, and was 10 years as a 4-H Leader in Washington Township.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband,
Charles Sanders; son in law, David Katonak; brother, Dr. Robert
McGreevey; sisters, Eloise McClurg, Marjory McGreevey, and Carol Hunter.
She is survived by her sons and daughters in law, John & Arlene
Sanders of St. Augustine, Florida and Charles “Butch” & Janet
Sanders of Coletown, Ohio; daughters, Joanne Katonak of Columbus, Ohio
and June Sanders of Gainesville, Florida; 7 grandchildren; 9 great
grandchildren; sister and brother in law, Anna & Ralph Lotshaw of
Pine Hurst, North Caroline; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a service held on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 10:30 AM at
Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Peter Menke
officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township
Memorial Gardens, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends
from 9-10:30 prior to the service of Friday.
It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to
the Brethren Retirement Community Resident Aid Fund or State of the
Heart Hospice.
