Jefferis
Virginia (Mangas) Jefferis, age 74 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on
Monday May 2, 2011 at 6:58 AM at the Brethren Retirement
Community. She was born February 12, 1937 in Randolph County,
Indiana the daughter of the late Glen C. & Mabel (Newbauer)
Mangas. She was a homemaker and worked as a telephone operator
for United Telephone. She was a member of First Christian Church
in Union City, the Nature Conservancy, & the Audubon Society.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband: Larry E. Jefferis of Greenville
whom she married October 1, 1966; daughter: LeeAnn Hritz of Kent,
Ohio; Grandson: Wilder Hritz; Brothers: Don Darwin of Union
City, Tony Mangas of Mansfield, Ohio; sisters: Mary Rose of Union
City, Indiana, Glenna Kerns of Bradford, Pam Mazer of Tucson, Arizona.
A memorial service will be held on Friday May 6, 2011 at 10:30 AM at
the Brethren Retirement Community Chapel 750 Chestnut Street,
Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Bob Bitner officiating. Burial will
take place at the convenience of the family. The family will
receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday May 5, 2011 at Zechar
Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio and 1 hour prior to services on
Friday at the Brethren Retirement Community Chapel. Memorial
contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
