Van Hout
Richard John “Dick” Van Hout, age 90, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away
on Tuesday, October 04, 2011 at 4:05 AM at Rest Haven Nursing Home in
Greenville, Ohio. He was born on September 30, 1921 in Kalamazoo,
Michigan, to the late Samuel and Jean (Toornman) Van Hout.
Dick retired from Fram as an accountant. He was a member of the
United States Army serving in WWII as a bomber pilot. He is a
member of the VFW and American Legion in Greenville.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife,
Patricia L. (Ballard) Van Hout whom he married on February 26, 1949;
sons, Rick E. Van Hout and Mark Van Hout; and a sister, Lois Moll.
He is survived by his daughter in law, Bonnie Van Hout of Greenville,
Ohio; sisters, Mary Van Hout and Dorothy Scott both of Kalamazoo,
Michigan; as well as some nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at
1:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor
Lance Elliot officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville
Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends on
Saturday from 11-1 prior to the service at the funeral home.
A Graveside Military Service will be conducted by the Greenville
Veterans Honor Guard. It is the wishes of the family that
memorial contributions be given to the National Breast Cancer
Foundation, Liver Foundation or American Diabetes Association.
