Carl W. Voisard
Carl W. Voisard age 85 of Russia, Ohio, passed away at 2:20 A.M. on
Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Versailles Health Care Center. Carl was
born April 30, 1926 in Shelby County to the late Michael & Agnes
(Monnier) Voisard.
Carl retired from Goodyear in St. Marys with 40 ½
years of service. Carl served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Carl was a
member of St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia; Russia Catholic War
Veteran’s; Russia Knights of Columbus; Versailles Eagles; and was a
life member of the Ft. Loramie American Legion. Carl was an avid
gardener; card player; fisherman; and loved putting jigsaw puzzles
together in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, Carl was also preceded
in death by his brothers, Jim, Robert and John Voisard; sister,
Florence Smith; and sisters-in-law, Frankie Voisard and Agnes Voisard.
Carl is survived by his wife, Genevieve (Hole)
Voisard whom he married November 20, 1948; sons & daughters-in-law,
Larry & Carol Voisard of Ft. Loramie and Mike & Donna Voisard
of Mesquite, Texas; daughters & sons-in-law, Nancy & Douglas
Greve of Botkins and Joyce & Keith Burch of Piqua; grandchildren,
Lori & Mike Holthaus, Stacy & Brian Knasel, Nicholas Voisard,
Lucas & Carly Greve, Michelle & Will Owens, Jodi Eilerman,
Amanda Voisard and Aaron Voisard; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Cyril
Voisard of Bradford; sisters & brothers-in-law, Rose & Roy
Henry of Versailles and Helen & Francis McEldowney of Versailles;
brother-in-law, Royce Smith of Versailles; and sisters-in-law, Ruth
Voisard of Ft. Loramie and Judy Voisard of Versailles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30
A.M. on Friday, September 9, 2011 at St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia
with Rev. Fr. Frank Amberger celebrant. Burial will follow in St.
Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on
Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:00
A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Military graveside
services will be conducted by the Russia Catholic War Veteran’s.
