Jerome H. Hoying
Jerome
H. Hoying, age 89, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday,
August 15, 2012, at 6:50 AM at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville,
Ohio. He was born on October 31, 1922 in St. Patricks, Ohio to the late
Henry H. & Anna (Schmitmeyer) Hoying.
He was preceded in
death by his wife Mary Hoying on February 10, 2001, whom he married on
June 27, 1944. He is also preceded in death by his parents; sisters,
Louise Boerger, Dettie Gaier, Anna Marie Eilerman and Regina Aselage;
brothers, Edwin Hoying and Henry Hoying.
Jerome is survived
by his children, John & Sherry Hoying of Union, Ohio, Bob &
Joan Hoying of Wildwood, Missouri, Jim Hoying of Tampa, Florida, Fred
& Sharon Hoying of Greenville, Ohio, Sandy & Charlie McFarland
of Greenville, Ohio, Sharon & Bill Westfall of Greenville, Ohio,
Randy & Anita Hoying of Cincinnati, Ohio; 11 Grandchildren; 12
Great Grandchildren; 4 brothers; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He
retired from Corning Glass Works after 30 years of service, was a
member of the Knight of Columbus, Elks, American Legion, VFW, and
served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII.
There will be a
Mass of Christian Burial held on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 10:30 AM
at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 233 West 3rd Street, Greenville, Ohio,
with Rev. Fr. John White celebrant. Burial will follow in the St.
Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends
on Monday, August 20, 2012 from 5-8 PM and Tuesday from 9:30-10:00 AM
at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.
A Military
Graveside service will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor
Guard. It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be
given to State of the Heart Hospice. Condolences for the family may be
