James R. “Jim” Delk
James R. “Jim” Delk, 71, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday,
December 8, 2012 at his residence. He was born on November 18,
1941 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Forrest & Ruby (Kreider)
Delk.
Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years Lois (Eubank) Delk of
Greenville, Ohio, whom he married on November 9, 1963; son and daughter
in law, Rodney & Teresa Delk of Arcanum, Ohio; daughter and son in
law, Sherry & Mike Dirksen of Union City, Ohio; grandchildren,
Heather Dirksen, Leslie Dirksen, Cody Dirksen and Ryan Delk; brothers,
Lenvall H. Delk of Castine, Ohio, Robert E. Delk of Pitsburg, Ohio,
Doyle D. Delk of Greenville, and Kenneth R. Delk of Rossburg, Ohio;
sisters, Vera I. Beisner of Greenville, Janice L. Shields of Eldorado,
Ohio, Marilyn L. Myers of Greenville, and Doris J. Osborne of
Greenville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother,
Carroll E. Delk.
Jim loved camping, playing cards, and most of all loved his
grandchildren. He enjoyed playing games with his grandchildren
and watching them play their sporting events.
There will be a service held on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 10:30 AM
at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Rev. Dr. Fred
Bernhard officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove
Cemetery, Ft. Jefferson, Ohio. Family will receive friends on
Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to
the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
