Elmira C. Kindell
Elmira C. Kindell, 95, of Greenville, passed away Saturday evening, May
12, 2012 at the Brethren Retirement Community from injuries sustained
in a fall 7 weeks ago.
She was born April 30, 1917 in Greenville, daughter of the late William
and Eva (McGriff) Kindell. In addition to her parents she was preceded
in death by a brother, Harvey “Peck” Kindell; a sister, Georgianna
Fourman; and a niece, Debra Randolph.
Elmira was retired from Dayton Power and Light where she had worked for
several years. After retirement she had worked at the Darke County
Courthouse, Brateman’s Lady’s Store, and had volunteered at Wayne
Hospital for almost 30 years.
She was a member of the First Congregational Christian Church in
Greenville, the Business and Professional Women’s Association, and the
Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Ron Kindell, Jeff Kindell,
Sondra North, and Teri Preston; and numerous great and great great
nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, at the Oliver-Floyd
Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Greenville
Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from
12:00 p.m. till 2 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions
be given to State of the Heart Hospice.
