U.S. Army SFC (Ret) Michael Levi Dickey

U.S. Army SFC (Ret) Michael Levi Dickey was born September 17, 1965, in Greenville, Ohio to William and Irene Beatrice (Funk) Dickey. He died November 9, 2012 at his home with family by his side in Fletcher, Oklahoma at the age of 47.

After graduating high school in Greenville, SFC Dickey entered the US Army on September 9, 1983 where he had a long and distinguished military career for twenty two years. He served in Korea, Southwest Asia, Desert Shield, and Desert Storm June to October 1991 also Iraqi Freedom March to November 2003. During his career he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal (6th Award), Army Achievement Medal (8th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), Iraq Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Korea Defense Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (K), Southwest Asia Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, Noncommissioned Officer's, Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (3rd Award),
Expert Driver and Mechanic Badge with Driver-W Bar, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

He married his high school sweetheart Katharine Jean Morris on December 23, 1983 in Greenville, Ohio. SFC Dickey is a member of the Military Order of Saint Barbara, and the Order of the Spur 11th Cav.

He was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers William Dickey, and Kenneth Wayne Dickey and one sister Suzanne Irene Dickey.

SFC Dickey is survived by his Wife, Kathy, of Fletcher; two daughters, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Amanda Moreau and husband U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Joseph Moreau of Kaiserslautern, Germany, and Heather Michelle Dickey, of Fletcher; an uncle, Mac Goodpaster of Greenville; and numerous cousins.
 
Services were held in Oklahoma with burial in the Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin OK.
