Raymond E. Freshour
Raymond E. Freshour, 93, of Greenville, passed away Monday, October 1,
2012 at the Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville Ohio.
He was born August 6, 1919 in New Cumberland, West Virginia, son of the
late Roy Minor and Arzona Belle (Tingler) Freshour. In addition
to his parents he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Stacey
Freshour.
Raymond was a self employed carpenter. a Sergeant for the Butler
County Sheriff Department. He was a member of the first Mounted Patrol
for Butler County. Raymond was Chief of Police for Monroe where he
developed their first K-9 Unit. He also work as a maintenance
manager at Pirate Land in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was a good dad and
grandpa. He loved to do woodworking, traveling and walking on the beach.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ella Mae (Robb) Freshour; his
children, Joyce (Carl) Jones, Bonnie (Reese) Williams, Faith (Dennis)
Miller, Roy (Debbie) Freshour, Amy (Phillip) Wollebeck; 14
grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 10 great great
grandchildren a sister, Dorothy Sroufe.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 4, at the
Oliver-Floyd funeral home with Chaplin Todd Reish officiating. Burial
will follow in the Palestine Cemetery.
The family receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m.
to 11 a.m.. The family request memorial contributions be given to
the State of the Heart Hospice and Brethren Retirement Community.
